At about 2:00 AM this morning at 1402 S. MO-291 Hwy, Harrisonville officers found a man who had been stabbed multiple times in his torso at a QuickTrip parking lot. The man was taken to the hospital where he passed away.
Everybody remembers Jackie Emo, the former Secretary to the Superintendent, and when she retired last May there were some pretty big shoes to fill. Cathy Jobe (pronounced like the book of Job in the Bible) took Emo’s position in July and is excited to serve the school community.

That buffoonery was actually 3 students taking 3D animation that came up with the idea, knowing babies and animals make popular videos. Their teacher wanted something to get 100,000 YouTube views. The students got more than 5,000,000 views.
Pleasant Hill School District votes to reinstate mask mandates in schools at a special meeting on August 31. The BOE called a special meeting to give the public two minutes each to speak about the possibility of reinstating the mask mandate due to the rise in students having to quarantine. After the public spoke, the BOE voted unanimously to bring the mandate back to the R-3 school district.
Severe thunderstorms can be life-threatening, but not all severe storms are the same. Hazardous conditions range from tornadoes, large hail storms, and widespread straight-line winds called derechoes, to cloud-to-ground lightning and flash flooding. Starting August 2, the National Weather Service will better convey the severity and potential impacts from thunderstorm winds and hail by adding a “damage threat” tag to Severe Thunderstorm Warnings, similar to our Tornado and Flash Flood Warnings.
