The state of Missouri announced that Cass Regional Medical Center has been selected as a high-throughput vaccinator as part of Missouri’s new vaccine distribution plan. The hospital is scheduled to receive additional vaccine doses every other week beginning Feb. 8, enabling the organization to accommodate its first-dose vaccine appointments that were already scheduled. Plans for future first-dose vaccine clinics starting the week of Feb. 22 are in development and will be announced within the next few days.
Cass Regional is part of a four-hospital consortium that was identified as a high-volume, high-throughput COVID-19 vaccinator in Missouri. Cass Regional Medical Center, Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, and Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia will work together to vaccinate 4,800 Missourians every other week in February.
The group was formed in response to the vaccine acceleration plan that Governor Parson and his leadership team announced on Tuesday, January 26. The plan calls for a two-week rotation for approximately eight hospitals/health systems to administer approximately 40,000 vaccines per week. Sixteen hospitals/health systems were identified to serve in a rotating schedule for the next phase of vaccinating the Phase 1B Tier 2 population.
“All of our organizations are deeply committed to doing whatever we can to keep our population healthy, and to end this pandemic,” said Chris Lang, CEO of Cass Regional Medical Center. “When this plan was announced, we quickly formed a group to respond, and are very glad to be one that was ultimately chosen. We believe we can best meet the needs of area Missourians by providing vaccinations at multiple, easily-accessible sites.”
Cass Regional Medical Center will work with the Cass County Health Department to notify interested and eligible individuals of how and when they can schedule a first-dose vaccine appointment. For more information, visit www.cassregional.org or the hospital’s Facebook page
